Title:
PATCH FOR REPAIRING TIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07172123
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To secure durability of a repaired tire by making a patch have longitudinal elasticity modulus corresponding to the value obtained by dividing the loss resistance of a tire ply code by the maximum allowable sharing strain of rubber near the cut ply code.

CONSTITUTION: A plurality of codes are parallely arranged in approximately the longitudinal direction of a patch 5, and a reinforced layer wherein layers embedded in a coating rubber are laminated is housed. And the stress to be estimated that a tire ply code of a belt layer 3 cut by a foreign matter to penetrate to the tire inside from the front surface of a tire tread part is subjected to the stress is calculated, so as to obtain loss resistance. Next, the driving member of codes and the number of lamination are determined so that a patch may have the longitudinal elasticity modulus corresponding to the value obtained by dividing the loss resistance by the maximum allowable sharing strain of rubber near the cut ply code, found by the relationship to the allowance of the side expansion caused by a flaw of a penetration part 7 of a tire shoulder part 7. Accordingly, durability required in retraveling is held, and the side expansion amount of the shoulder part 7 can be decreased even if the tire has high internal pressure.
