Abstract:
PURPOSE:To send data onto a transmission line while shortening the time of conversion by converting a Chinese character pattern stored in an electronic computer into a code used for facsimile transmission without using a processor. CONSTITUTION:In memory circuit 11, row or column data of conversion data differing in format is stored and under the control of control circuit 15, continuous bits of one attribute of the row or column data from circuit 11 are counted by counting circuit 13; and the number of bits calculated by this circuit 13 is applied to the register of compressing circuit 14 and the output of the register is compressed according to a compression code. Then, the converted data stored in circuit 11 is converted by longitudinal-lateral converting circuit 12, under the control of control circuit 15, into a specific pattern or normal pattern by using the compression code from compressing circuit 14 and it is stored in the memory of control circuit 15. Further, the Chinese character patten is converted into a code used for facsimile transmission in a short time without using any processing circuit and the code is transmitted onto the transmission line.
