PURPOSE: To obtain an effective matching degree even in the case of showing a special distribution in various kinds of temperature matchings by making it possible to prepare template and auxiliary data routinely merely by providing a sufficient amount of sample data, and correcting the distance using a template indicating a distribution situation of the sample data and the auxiliary data.
CONSTITUTION: Template preparator 11 produces templete to be a base of mathcing degree calculation and template auxiliary data necessary for the process of calculating the matching degree, and when data to be identified is provided, a matching degree calculator 12 calculates a matching degree by obtaining data whose class should be identified and correcting distance from all classes using the aforementioned template and template auxiliary data. A result of this calculation is outputted to a clas deciding device 13, and a matching degree for each class calculated by the calculator 12 is used to device a class to which data belongs.
