Title:
PEN-SHAPED COMPUTER INPUT DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03257612
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To input a graphic and a characters or the like with the sense of a pen by constituting a light reflection part so as to obtain various output signals according to the rotating directions of a transform output axis and inputting the rotating directions and moving amounts of the respective transform output axes according to whether there is an optical fiber output signal or not.

CONSTITUTION: When a pen-shaped shaft part 5 is grasped and moved in the state of pressuring a ball 7, the ball 7 is rolled on in an arbitrary direction and with this rolling, one or both transform output axes 8 and 9 of (x) and (y) axes are rotated. Then, optical fiber detectors 15 and 16 detect reflected light from the light reflection of the transform output axes 8 and 9 with projection. At such a time, since the light reflection part is constituted so that the various output signals can be obtained according to the rotating directions of the transform output axes 8 and 9, in respect to the transform output axes 8 and 9 of the (x) and (y) axes, the rotating direction can be detected respectively by one optical fiber detector 15 or 16. According to whether there is the optical fiber output signal or not, the rotating directions and moving amounts of the respective transform output axes 8 and 9 are inputted to a computer 1 and the graphics and characters or the like can be displayed. Thus, the graphics and characters or the like can be inputted with the sense of the pen.
