NEW MATERIAL:The peptide NOG-53 having the amino acid sequence of formula.
USE: A plant virus controlling agent.
PREPARATION: The objective peptide NOG-53 expressed by formula can be produced, e.g., by (1) successively linking t-butoxycarbonylamino acids according to the amino acid sequence of the peptide from the C-terminal amino acid by a peptide synthesis apparatus to synthesize a peptide chain, (2) discharging a resin bonded with the synthetic peptide NOG-53 from the reactor after the completion of the reaction, (3) adding ethanedithiol and then thioanisole to the resin and leaving standing the mixture, (4) adding trifluoroacetic acid and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid and cooling with ice, (5) adding diethyl ether and filtering the mixture to separate the peptide from the resin and finally (6) purifying the peptide by high-performance liquid chromatography.
