Abstract:
To provide a periodontal disease diagnosis support apparatus and a method for the same, which can obtain quantified/digitized criteria for examination for making it possible to objectively determine the degree of progress of periodontal disease in examination for periodontal disease, and which can significantly improve the examination property and safety of the examination, as well as can significantly improve the objectivity of diagnosis.SOLUTION: The periodontal disease diagnosis support apparatus includes: a tooth part shape detecting section for detecting a tooth part shape including at least the position of the apex of alveolar bone from a dental image photographed by an imaging device; and an alveolar bone resorption degree calculating section for calculating the degree of alveolar bone resorption using information on the detected tooth part shape including the apex of alveolar bone.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
