Abstract:
To provide a perpendicular magnetic recording disk.
The layer thickness of a perpendicular magnetic recording layer of the magnetic recording disk formed by laminating a ground surface layer for inducing the perpendicular orientability of the perpendicular magnetic recording layer between a substrate and the perpendicular magnetic recording layer is selected from the region where the perpendicular saturated coercive force ratio Hc/Ho defined as the ratio of the perpendicular saturated coercive force Hc and maximum perpendicular saturated coercive force Ho with respect to the layer thickness described above decreases with a decrease in the layer thickness.
