Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the composition which contains a specified ratio of naproxen and arginine and an aq. solution of which has a pH value within a specified range and also, which is capable of rapidly showing an analgesic effect and further, excellent in pharmaceutical-effect durability and properties with respect to granulation and compression molding.
CONSTITUTION: This composition contains (A) naproxen and (B) arginine such as L-arginine in a molar ratio of (the component A)/(the component B) of 1/0.8 to 1/1.5 and further optionally contains (C) a pharmaceutically-acceptable basic substance other than arginine, such as sodium hydrogencarbonate, in a molar ratio of the substance to the component A of ≤0.7. Also, an aq. solution of the composition has a pH value of 7.5 to 9.0. The naproxen content in the composition is preferably 125, 250 or 500 mg.
