PURPOSE: To obtain a new phenoxyacetic acid derivative, capable of exhibiting excellent antagonistic action on thromboxane A2 and useful as a TXA2 antagonistic agent having high safety and further as a therapeutic and a preventive agents for allergy and thrombosis.
CONSTITUTION: A phenoxyacetic acid derivative expressed by formula I (X is H, halogen, alkyl, CF3, alkoxy, OH or cyano; R1 is H, methyl or ethyl; A is H, phenyl or 2-pyridyl; R2 is H, phenyl-lower alkyloxy, pyridyl-lower alkyloxy or naphthyl-lower alkyloxy; n is 0-2) or its physiologically permissible salt, e.g. 4-[3-(4-chlorobenzenesulfonyl)propyl]-2-benzoylaminophenoxyacetic acid. The above-mentioned compound is obtained by reacting a sulfone derivative expressed by formula II with an acid chloride derivative expressed by formula III in the presence of a suitable base, carrying out deprotection and carbon- increasing reaction with ethyl bromoacetate and then hydrolyzing the produced ester part with an alkali.
