Abstract:
Phenylpiperazine derivatives of formula (I) as well as their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, are prepared. R<1> represents benzyl, C1-6 alkyl or an optionally substituted phenyl; R<2> represents an optionally substituted phenyl, R<3> represents hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl, Q represents furan, thiophene, oxazole or thiazole, m is an integer from 1 to 3 and n is 0 or 1. When m is 2 and n is 0, R<1> cannot represent a methyl group when Q is the thiazol-5-yl group. The preparation is carried out by condensation of a compound of formula (VII): R<1>-Q-(CH2)m-(CHR<3>)n-L (VII) in which L represents the split group, with a compound of formula (VIII): The compounds of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are useful in the prophylactic and therapeutic treatment of diseases of immediate hypersensitiveness, especially asthma in mammals. They have a low toxicity.
