Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new phosphite ester useful for preventing the thermal deterioration and oxidative deterioration of organic materials such as polyolefins.
SOLUTION: The compound of formula I (R1, R2, R4 and R5 are each H, a 1-8C alkyl, a 5-8C cycloalkyl, phenyl, etc.; R3, R6 are each H, a 1-8C alkyl; X1 is S, a substituted methylene; X2 is a single bond, S, a substituted methyl). For example, 2-[1-(2-(2,4,8,10-tetra-t-pentyl-12-methyl-12H-dibenzo[d, g][1,3,2]dioxaphosphosin-6-yl)oxy-3-t-butyl-5-methylphenyl)ethyl]-6-t-butyl-4- methylphenol. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a bisphenol compound of formula II with a phosphorus trihalide in the presence of a hydrogen halide-removing agent such as triethylamine and subsequently reacting the product with a bisphenol compound of formula III.
