A photocatalyst component comprises a substrate 1 having a photocatalyst and a fluorescent agent held therein, and an LED 2 which directly or indirectly radiates a light of the short wavelength to a substrate. A photocatalyst layer 31 is excited by radiating the light of the short wavelength from LED 2 to exhibit an anti-bactercidal property, an antifouling property and deodorizing function. Further, since the fluorescent agent layer 32 is caused to develop a color by the light of the short wavelength, the color development can be used for a lighting and a display.
