Abstract:

PURPOSE:To certainly detect an angle of rotation by improving the utilization efficiency of light in an angle detection part and obtaining sufficient detection quantity of light by providing the light incident end part of a detection light guiding optical fiber to the peripheral part of the light emitting end part of an optical fiber for guiding the light of a light source. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from the light emitting end part 41a of an optical fiber 41 for guiding light of a light source impinges on a reflecting surface while spreads and reaches the light incident end part 42a of an optical fiber 42 for guiding detection light while further spreads. At this time, since the end part 42a of the fiber 42 is present in the peripheral part the end part 41a of the fiber 41, the ratio of the light lost without reaching the end part 42a can be suppressed to a sufficiently small level. As a result, since the lower ing of detection quantity of light becomes little, an angle of rotation can be always detected accurately.
