PURPOSE: To prevent the reduction of the density of a cyan image dyestuff in a bleaching process by incorporating a cyan dyestuff forming coupler and a polymer latex composed of a repeating unit of a specific monomer to prepare a photographic silver halide composition.
CONSTITUTION: The photographic silver halide composition is prepared by incorporating the cyan dyestuff forming coupler and the polymer latex composed of the repeating unit of the monomers expressed by formula I and formula II. Or the bleaching is executed in the presence of the polymer latex. Where in the formulas, (m) expresses 1-4, each of (n) and (q) expresses 1-10, X expresses -OH,-CO2H, -SO3H9 -O- PO(OH)2 or the metallic salt. By the presence of the polymer latex, the cyan image dyestuff is prevented from converting to a leuco dyestuff due to ferrous ion generated at the time of bleaching silver after a color photographic material is image-wise exposed. Then, since the polymer latex is present, the reduction of the density of the cyan image dyestuff is prevented and the color density is made excellent.
