To provide a photographing apparatus in which special effect photographing can be easily performed using a photographing apparatus including two imaging means.

Photographing directions of two imaging means are made variable, thereby selecting various video effects. When the imaging means are parallel, a stereo photograph is obtained and opened at a predetermined angle, a panoramic image is obtained and when they are turned in opposite directions, images picked up by the imaging means themselves are fitted into the scenery. The interval of the two imaging means is made variable, on the other hand, thereby adjusting a stereo parallax. Furthermore, an embodiment is also described in which red and blue filters are moved back and forth in front of the two imaging means, so that photographing in an anaglyph stereo mode is made possible.
