To provide a photographing apparatus with which a desired reproduction image is widely projected on a projection screen for appreciation.

A photographing apparatus is equipped with: a display means for superimposing photography information on a subject image incident through a photographing lens; a finder for forming and observing the subject image, on which the photography information has been superimposed by the display means, by means of an eyepiece lens; a light source provided at a side of the display means where the eyepiece lens is provided; a light guide means for guiding light emitted from the light source to the display means; a display switching control means for displaying a desired reproduction image on the display means in place of the photography information; and a projection means for projecting, at a subject side, the reproduction image projected on an opposite side by illuminating the display means from the side of the display means, where the eyepiece lens is provided, with the light guided by the light guide means by means of the photographing lens on the opposite side of the display means where the eyepiece lens is provided.
