PURPOSE: To obtain the above material which is excellent in stability and has the color developing hue of a red system by using a triphenyl methane compd. having one amino group as an oxidation color developable leuco dye.
CONSTITUTION: The leuco dye of the photoimage forming material forming a coating layer essentially consisting of the oxidation color developable leuco dye, a photooxidizing agent and a reducing agent is formed of the triphenyl methane compd. having the one amino group. The triphenyl methane compd. having a substd. amino group as the one phenyl group is most preferable. The preferred substitution position of the amino group is in a p-position with respect to a phthalic group. The other two phenyl groups preferably have respectively a substd. hydroxy group or substd. mercapto group. The thermally fixable photoimage forming material formed by using the leuco substance of the color developing hue of the red system having the excellent stability is obtd. in this way.
