Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect skin and hair against solar radiation at the time of application as a cosmetic by combining a dibenzoylmethane derivative with an amide compound.
SOLUTION: A dibenzoylmethane derivative such as 4-tert-butyl-4'- methoxydibenzoylmethane or 4-isopropyldibenzoylmethane is combined with an amide compound such as N,N-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide and used as a vehicle, etc., of a cosmetic. The amounts of the contained ingredients are preferably 0.1-6 wt.% dibenzoylmethane derivative and 0.1-30 wt.% amide compound.
