PURPOSE: To carry out the subject effective pick finding by sucking and drawing out slivers from plural full bobbins while rotating the full bobbins and allowing the drawn-out slivers to be nipped by a sliver-connection head.
CONSTITUTION: Plural full bobbins for exchange are suspended from a bobbin hanger 24 on a spare rail 15 in advance. In pick finding, a full bobbin-exchange head 52 is moved up and plural full bobbins are placed on a peg 53. The full bobbin-exchange head 52 is then moved down so as to bring down the full bobbins from the bobbin hanger 24. A pick-finding nozzle 62 is moved up so as to suck the sliver end of each full bobbin and the respective full bobbins are subsequently led to the downward by the peg 53 while being rotated. The sliver is nipped by the head 60 at a position higher than that of the suction opening of the pick-finding nozzle 62 and the sliver between the sliver-connection head 60 and the pick-finding nozzle 62 is cut. The cut sliver on the pick-finding nozzle side is sucked into the nozzle 62.
