PURPOSE: To notify the user of a picture forming device of names corresponding to registered numbers of copy patterns by providing a name notifying section which notifies the user of the name corresponding to a registered number when the number is inputted.

CONSTITUTION: When a job memory key 6 is pressed twice after a desired copy pattern is decided by means of ten keys 1, etc., at the time of registering the copy pattern, a write indicating section 8 starts to blink, indicating the write mode. After the write mode is set, the registering number of the copy pattern is inputted through ten keys 1. In the case the registering number is unregistered, the section 8 shifts to a lighting state from the blinking state. When a name is inputted from a name inputting section 10 in corresponding to the registered number, the name is written in a nonvolatile memory 14 by using the registered number as an address. Therefore, the registered number is displayed in a number displaying section 4 in a blinking state and, at the same time, the name corresponding to the registered number is displayed in a name displaying section 5 in a blinking state.
