Abstract:

To prevent the generation of any lattice pattern in a generated mosaic picture.

In this picture generating method, material pictures corresponding to an objective picture are selected from plural material pictures, and the selected material pictures are synthesized so that a mosaic picture can be generated. In this case, picture regions are set based on the picture characteristics of the material pictures, and the objective picture is divided into plural divided picture regions, and the material pictures corresponding to the divided picture regions are selected based on the picture regions other than the set picture regions, and the set picture regions of the selected material pictures are removed, and the material pictures from which the set picture regions are removed are synthesized so that the mosaic picture can be generated.
