Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reproduce a high quality and high definition picture by arbitrarily changing an error diffusing matrix for error data to read picture element data to other picture element. CONSTITUTION:The picture data of an original read by an input sensor 1 is supplied to an error correcting circuit 5 through an A/D converter 2 and a correction circuit 3. In a matrix selector 4, the error diffusing matrix is selected and select data is fed to the error correcting circuit 5. In the error correcting circuit 5, the error data supplied from an error arithmetic circuit 7 is weighted based on the select data, added to the corrected data from the correction circuit 3 and error corrected data is supplied to a binarization circuit 6. In the binarization circuit 6, the error corrected data is binarized and a result is supplied to a printer 8 and the error arithmetic circuit 7 as binary data. The error arithmetic circuit 7 feeds back the error data to the error correcting circuit 5.
