Abstract:
PURPOSE: To process a data optionally independently in the unit of block raster by generating a code compressed data while being divided in the unit of block raster.
CONSTITUTION: This picture processing unit is provided with a coder 4 generating a compressed picture data as to a picture data at a current position through the use of a history of the picture data up to a preceding position, and a control circuit 6-1 resetting the history of the coder 4 when a picture data is divided in advance to plural small areas and the head picture data of the small area is coded is provided to a decoder 6. Thus, since the compressed picture data coded for each small area has no relation with each other, the correction is attained in the unit of small areas and it is not required to correct the compressed picture data of other small area attended with the correction.
