PURPOSE: To provide a picture processor capable of high-speed processing of video signals from an interlace camera by solving the problem of low processing speed.

CONSTITUTION: The device is provided with memory parts 4 and 5 which take in video signals from an interlace camera 1, line data taking detection part 21 which detects the end of taking the 1st field data, field data taking detection part 7 which detects the end of taking the 1st field data, frame data taking detection part 8 detecting the end of taking all data of both fields, and picture processing part 6 which processes the picture by using the line information, field information, and frame information. The picture processing is started by line data to be taken before the end of taking all field data and the processing time can be speeded.
