Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always judge the emission error of a light source.
SOLUTION: This picture read device is provided with a means for converting a read picture into a digital signal, and for correcting the read digital signal based on the data of a reference white plate read at the time of reading an original. At the time of the main scanning, peak data are always monitored. When the peak data do not reach the reference value even after the lapse of a prescribed time after the light source is turned on, the read operation is stopped.
