Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a retrieving method and its retrieving device which execute precise retrieving through the use of color information from a picture data base.
CONSTITUTION: An illustration input part 30 inputs some illustration which is prepared with a retrieving key by a retrieving person, an illustration color information extracting part 50 extracts HVS color space data from the illustration, a stored picture data color information extracting part 40 extracts HVS color space data from the picture data base 20 and each availability of three attributes deciding part 60 decides the availability of each component in HSV color space data. Then, a retrieving candidate deciding part 70 calculates similarity, decides a retrieving candidate and displays a retrieving candidate picture on a display part 90. A control part 90 controls the whole picture retriving device.
