Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable to remarkably increase the number of operation in service life of the titled actuator by a method wherein an electrode is adhered to the end face and the side face of two piezoelectric bodies, the electrode located at the end face is soldered through the intermediary of a metal plate, and a lead wire is fixed to the metal plate. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 26 is formed on one side face and end face of a piezoelectric material 21, another electrode 27 is formed in layer form on other side face and end face, and the electrodes 26 on the two piezoelectric bodies is soldered through the intermediary of a metal plate 28. When driving voltage is applied between the lead wire 3 connected to the metal plate 28 and the mounting member connected to the electrode 27 on the other end face, the same voltage is applied between the electrodes 26 and 27 of the two piezoelectric bodies, and the dimensional distortion in the direction as shown by the arrow S in the diagram is generated on each piezoelectric body. As a lead wire 3 is not connected to the surface of the electrodes 26 and 27 of a piezoelectric body 20, there is no breakage on the connected points due to stress concentration generating when the device is in operation. Accodingly, the piezoelectric actuator whereon the number of operation in service life is largely increased can be obtained.
