PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine that can facilitate manufacturing thereof.SOLUTION: A piston includes a body and a low-heat conductive layer. The body contains an aluminum alloy and includes a piston head and a piston skirt. The body includes a holding part on a side of the piston head facing a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. The low-heat conductive layer is in the holding part.
