Abstract:
To provide a piston ring capable of reducing a blowby gas leakage amount through a meeting gap over a long period of time.
The piston ring 21 is attached to an outer peripheral groove of a piston reciprocating in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine. Recessed parts 30a, 30b extending in the radial direction of the body of the piston ring 21 is formed on respective opposing end faces 21a, 21b of the body of the piston ring 21 forming a meeting gap 40. Elastic resins 35a, 35b having thicknesses not exceeding the opposing end faces 21a, 21b at normal temperatures are integrally joined to bottom parts of the recessed parts 30a, 30b, respectively.
