To provide a planar antenna 1 capable of always holding the space between a planar radiating element 2 and a planar ground conductor 3 constant without using a spacer by applying simple working to the planar radiating element 2 to increase the mechanical strength of the planar radiating element 2.
This planar antenna is provided with the planar radiating element 2, the planar ground conductor 3 arranged parallelly to the radiating element 2, a short circuit plate 4 which is connected to one end part of the radiating element 2, holds the radiating element 2 on the ground conductor 3 and also conductively connects the radiating element 2 to the ground conductor 3, and a feeding plate 5 which is connected to the other end part of the radiating element 2 and is connected to a feeding point through the ground conductor 3. The radiating element 2 is provided with bending parts 21, 22, 23 and 24 obtained by bending the peripheral area of the radiating element 2 from the surface of the radiating element 2 in the direction of the ground conductor 3.
