To provide a plane reciprocating parking system (1) to be installed efficiently in a rectangular site of a nearly square form for storing cars parked side by side, (2) enabling effective use of the rectangular site without the necessity of a special vertical transfer space extended from the rectangular site and (3) capable of reducing the time required for waiting a lift at a same floor and enhancing smoothness even if cars enter and leave the same floor continuously.
The plane reciprocating parking system comprises lifts 12 moving vertically in a shaft, a traveling truck 14 capable of horizontally traveling with a car loaded thereon on a traveling track and a storage shelf 16 arranged adjacently to the truck. A pair of the lifts 12 are provided at an entering height H with an entering/leaving opening 11 arranged between them, and the lifts 12 are disposed adjacent to the truck at a storage height L.
