To provide a planking material for a sidewalk, which reuses a waste tire of an automobile, which improves air pollution caused, for example, by exhaust gas on a road, and which enables a pedestrian to easily walk on the sidewalk, because noises are not generated.
The planking material for the sidewalk is obtained through the following steps: wire-uncontaining 65 vol% cut rubber chips 2 of the waste tire, having a diameter of 2-6 mm, and 35 vol% natural zeolite particles 3 of Sendai origin, having a diameter of 2-4 mm, are uniformly mixed together after the addition of a proper amount of binding material 4; and after the further addition of a minute amount of synthetic pigment 5, this mixture is put into a plate mold with a thickness of 15 mm and longitudinal and lateral dimensions of 10×20 cm, and molded by heating and pressurization. The planking material 1 is characteristically equipped with excellent walkability, water permeability and gas adsorbability.
