PURPOSE: To obtain an electrode of excellent workability and high reliability in which an electrode member is fixed to the electrode base portion by inserting the said electrode member in an electrode hole provided on the said electrode base portion and compacting the surrounding portion of the electrode member in the head of the electrode base with a pressure device so as to fix the electrode member concentric to the said base portion.
CONSTITUTION: An electrode hole 15e in which an electrode member can be inserted is provided on an electrode base portion 15a, and an electrode member 52 of specified diameter and length fitting to the hole 15e is inserted into the hole 15e and fixed to the said portion 15a by applying a pressure inward to the surrounding portion of the electrode member 52. Thereby unlike in conventional pressure insertion, the cutting and forming process of the electrode can be made unnecessary, the falling off of the electrode member 52 can be eliminated, the process of the electrode can be simplified, and the waste of the electrode material can be avoided to fix the electrode member 52 rigidly to the electrode base portion 15a.
