Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form a paint film giving no impression of paint on a plastic substrate by forming a film of an electrically conductive metal on the substrate by sputtering to a uniform thickness and by carrying out painting by electrodeposition. CONSTITUTION:A film having high covering power is formed on a plastic substrate by sputtering. The film is formed to a uniform thickness even when the surface of the substrate is uneven. The paint film is then formed by electrodeposition. The resulting plastic molded product painted by electrodeposition has a metallic appearance with unique depth and no impression of painting.
