Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide less irregular rigidity for blocks and prevent lopsided wear by giving shallow bottom-up to a groove intersection where the angled portions of at least three polygonal blocks are opposed to one another and partially reinforcing the angled portions of the blocks.
CONSTITUTION: A groove intersection A between a tire peripheral groove and a tire cross groove, where the angled portions of at least three blocks 3 are opposed to one another is given shallow bottom-up to meet the requirement of 0<a/b≤0.2, 0.2≤h/D≤0.5, where (a) is the maximum length of the bottom-up portion of the groove intersection along the block side from the angled portion of the block, (b) is the maximum length of a diagonal line between the angled portions of at least three blocks 3, (h) is the height of the bottom-up portion of the groove intersection and D is the depth of the groove which is not given bottom-up.
