PURPOSE: To provide a pneumatic tire casing inspection method and device in which the mounting of a tire casing is easy, inspection operation is simple, and defects of casing constituting members are clearly displayed.

CONSTITUTION: Inspection is conducted in such a step that a beam source 60 and a detecting part 70 are arranged on the outside of a casing 100, beams are applied at an optional angle to the shoulder part of a tire, the beams are applied at the specified angle to the part to be inspected of the casing, the casing is rotated on the rotating shaft, the beam image of the shoulder part of the casing is received, and from the static image of a breaker displayed on a screen, the peeling off or separation of the breaker edge of the casing is observed. The device has a carriage assembly body 50 capable of rotating, linearly moving, and displacing, an X-ray source 60 fixed to the carriage assembly body 50, a detecting part 70 linearly arranged at some distance along the beam of the X-ray source 60, and a means for starting the X-ray source 60.
