Abstract:

To reduce pedestrians' annoyance by preventing pedestrians from getting wet, to the minimum, by water discharged out of shoulder lug grooves 23 even if pneumatic tires 1 travel on a water-pooled road.

The shoulder lug grooves 23 has smooth constricted shapes in such a way that groove widths at main grooves 7 side and tread ends TE side are wider, and groove widths at ground-contact ends GT side of the tires become narrower. Protrusions 27 or convex and concave parts 29 are formed between the main grooves 7 and the ground-contact ends GT of the tires on wall surfaces of the shoulder lug grooves 23. Expanded portions 31 are formed near the ground-contact ends GT of the tires at bottom surfaces of the shoulder lug grooves 23.
