PURPOSE: To improve the wet performance by providing slender ribs extended along wide grooves in some wide grooves and leaving part of the wide grooves between the slender ribs and land sections as slender grooves closed at the time of grounding in a tire provided with oblique wide grooves in opposite directions to each other on a tread.
CONSTITUTION: Multiple first wide grooves 6 linearly extended and inclined toward the front of the rotation direction D from a shoulder end 2 to a shoulder end 3 are formed on the tread 4 of a pneumatic tire 1, multiple second wide grooves 7 linearly extended and inclined in the opposite direction to the wide grooves 6 are formed, and many diamond land sections 8 are formed on the tread 4. Slender ribs 11 extended along the wide grooves 6 are provided in the first wide grooves 6 in this tire. Part of the first wide grooves is left between the slender ribs 11 and the land sections 8 on both sides of the slender ribs 11 as a pair of slender grooves 14 and 15, and these slender grooves 14 and 15 are closed at the time of grounding.
