PURPOSE: To make a barrel polishing device in an in-line structure and automate transportation between processes by forming a cylindrical continuous rotation barrel polishing trough from a plurality of minor lot polishing troughs by means of partitioning in the axial direction by shutters, arranging this barrel polishing trough with possibility of inclining, and furnishing a work supplying machine at the inlet to the barrel trough and a work takeout machine at its outlet.
CONSTITUTION: A work supplying machine 7 supplies a certain amount of works 6 cut in the previous process to No.1 trough at the inlet to a rotary barrel trough 1. Then a shutter 2 is shut and the rotary barrel trough 1 is rotated by a motor 5 and inclined so that the inlet side of the body of rotary barrel trough 1 is situated high, and a shutter at the inlet to No.2 trough is opened for moving works 6 to the No.2 trough. Then the shutter is shut and the barrel trough 1 is returned to its original horizontal position, and the works are cast into the No.1 trough. The works after polishing till No.6 trough are in the same manner moved to a selecting machine 8 from the outlet side of the barrel trough 1 and sent to the next process upon passing through a work takeout machine 9.
