Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make polishing work for a cable long surface very easy, by two parallel rotary brushes being approachable and voice versa, in a polishing machine for a cable surface at the time of connecting cables, and polishing an oxidized film layer or the like by a motor while holding the cable in between.

CONSTITUTION: A polishing machine is provided with rotary brushes 1 and 2, consisting of rotary shafts 31 and 32 and metallic bristles 41 and 42 bristled in a cylindrical form around these rotary shafts. The rotary shaft 31 is supported by a bearing 51 and coupled with a motor 7 via a decelerating mechanism 6. The rotary shaft 32 is supported by a bearing 52 so as to be approachable and vice versa while keeping a paralleled state intact, and driven the motor 7 via a power transmission mechanism 8. Protective covers 111 and 112 are tightly installed on an extension of base blocks 101 and 102. At the time of polishing a cable, it is necessary to protect the motor 7 that these metallic bristles 4 of rotary brushes 1 and 2 is enough to come into slightly contact with the cable and partial bristle tips is slightly bent or so.
