PURPOSE: To perform continuous machining operation between coarse polishing and finish polishing without replacing a media by a method wherein, in wet type centrifugal barrel polishing, the number of revolutions is decreased with a time by means of a grinding stone, serving as a media, formed such that a binder having a modulus of elasticity of a specified value and grinding particles are mixed in specified composition.
CONSTITUTION: In wet type centrifugal barrel polishing, a material having a modulus of 1×104-2×105kgf/cm2 is used as a binder, and a grinding stone formed by 95-70volume% the binder and 5-30volume% grinding particles serves as a media. A ratio N2/N1 of the number of N2 of revolutions to the number N1 of revolutions is decreased with a time or N2/N1 is set to -0.5--0.1. When the number N1 of revolutions is low, no sharp flaw is formed on a work by means of the grinding stone, and polishing ability is provided. When the number of N1 of revolutions is increased, enough grinding is applied on the work and grinding ability is provided. Thereby, by reducing the number N1 of revolutions with a time, continuous machining operation between coarse polishing and finish polishing can take place.
