To obtain a composition capable of giving a molded article excellent in rigidity, impact resistance, heat resistance and chemical resistance by incorporating a phyllosilicate salt having exchangeable cations existing between layers replaced by organic onium ions and an impact modifier each in a specific amount into a thermoplastic polyester resin.
Into 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic polyester resin (A) are incorporated 0.1-40 pts.wt. of a phyllosilicate salt (B) having exchangeable cations existing between layers replaced by organic onium ions and 1-50 pts.wt. of an impact modifier (C). Preferably, at least 80% of the component B exists in the component A phase and the component B is previously dispersed in the component A before the impact modifier is added. Further are added 2-100 pts.wt. of a fibrous inorganic filler, 0.01-5 pts.wt. of a hindered phenol compound, an organic phosphite or phosphonite compound, and 0.05-10 pts.wt. of a compound having a functional group reactive with the thermoplastic polyester.
