Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide di-(poly)isocyanate solutions useful to impart water, oil and stain resistance to porous inorganic substrates impregnated therewith.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorine-containing di- or polyisocyanate characterized by being the reaction product between (a) a di- or poly-isocyanate having (cyclo) aliphatic isocyanate groups and a molecular weight of about 168-about 1000 and (b) less than equivalent of fluorine containing mono- or di-valent alcohol, which has a fluorine content of 15-about 60 wt.% measured as a perfluoroalkyl group content, an isocyanate content of about 0.5-about 15 wt.%, and urethane groups.
