PURPOSE: A composition excellent in ink repellency and suitable as raw material for the production of ink repellents, prepared by (co)polymerizing a specified fluorine-containing (meth)acrylate.
CONSTITUTION: The purpose polymer is prepared by polymerizing a compound of the formulaI(wherein n is 2W7, and R is H or methyl) alone or together with other vinyl monomers (e.g., ethylene, styrene, acrylic acid). With respect to the method of polymerization, bulk polymerization, solution polymerization, emulsion polymerization or a like polymerization method can be used. As the polymerization initiators, there are used azobisisobutyronitrile, benzoyl peroxide and the like. Here, compounds of formulaIcan be obtained by reducing a compound of formula II into a compound of formula III, and then esterifying this with a (meth)acrylic acid. Further, it is also possible to obtain dampening water-free lithographic printing plates by coating a support with a solution of the polymer of this invention and evaporating the solvent to form a film thereon.
