Abstract:
To provide a polyarylene-based polymer which has a large ion exhcange capacity and thus provides an electrolyte membrane having excellent dimensional stability in water absorption and swelling, and a polymer that is a precursor thereof.
A polymer has a structural unit represented by formula (001) in a main chain. The total content α (mmol/g) of the following -SO2A1, -SO2A2, -SO2A3 and -SO2A4 in the polymer exceeds 2.0, and the α and the weight average molecular weight of the polymer satisfy a relation of the following expression (X): Mw/(α*1000)>25.
