Abstract:

To obtain a polymeric flame-retardant having compatibility with thermoplastic resins to be rendered flame-retardant, particularly olefin based and styrene based thermoplastic resins.

The polymeric fame-retardant is composed of a copolymer comprising a repeating unit derived from ethylene and a repeating unit derived from a halogenated hydrocarbon ester of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid. The polymeric flame-retardant is incorporated in an amount of 2-100 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. combustible thermoplastic resin.
