Abstract:
To provide polypropylene having a carboxyl group that is a reactive functional group although it has a high molecular weight, and a method of producing the same.
The polypropylene for which MFR measured at a measurement temperature of 230°C and a load of 2.16 kgf is equal to or less than 50 g/10 min, is thermally decomposed at a pressure of 0.1 Pa or less, and the polypropylene after thermal decomposition is brought into contact with oxygen-containing gas for oxidation reaction, so that the polypropylene having a carboxyl group that is a reactive functional group although it has a high molecular weight, can be produced.
