To provide a porous body having a pore structure of a very minute and straight shape.
The porous body has a columnar pore formed by forming a structure by dispersing a columnar substance containing a first component in a member containing a second component capable of forming a eutectic mixture with the first component and removing the dispersed columnar substance from the structure. A substance other than the first component, the second component and oxides of these components is formed on the pore surface of the porous body. The substance other than the first component, the second component and oxides of these components is an organosilicon compound. The silicon of the organosilicon compound is bonded to the pore surface of the porous body while interposing the element and oxygen of the second component forming the porous body between them.
