PURPOSE: To provide a portable cigarette end container capable of housing a cigarette end and ash and preserving a cigarette in the middle of smoking in a state to be smoked again.

CONSTITUTION: A main body 1 of a container is divided into a main chamber 2 for both holding a cigarette end and ash and a preserving chamber 3 for temporarily storing a cigarette in the middle of smoking, adjacently right and left. Openings 10 and 11 of the chambers 2 and 3 are openably and closably closed by a first cover 4 and a second cover 5. A fire extinguishing block 6 is arranged at the inner bottom of the preserving chamber 3. The fire extinguishing block 6 is provided with a fire-extinguishing hole 32 for holding a cigarette in the middle of smoking. The fire extinguishing hole 32 comprises a vertically through hole. When the lighted part on the tip of a cigarette in the middle of smoking is inserted into the fire extinguishing hole 32, the cigarette can be retained in a standing position.
