To improve operability for a user.
This portable communication equipment is provided with a touchpad operating means, and the user can perform smooth pointer movement or input operation by tracing, tapping or the like on the touchpad operating means with a finger. The equipment is also provided with a covering means that can cover the surface of the touchpad operating means. The covering means can further be slid to both left and right directions to make the touchpad operating means exposed.
